A Good Day for Second Outlines
A Good Day for Second Outlines

What a lousy overnight I had last night. I had to work five and a half hours OT. True, I like to work over OT at time-and-a-half. Didn’t really want to do it last night, though. Especially, not that much OT. Why? Because I had a couple of short stories I needed to get done and posted to the Antagonist contest for the October NaNoWriMo Prep Challenge. I got them both done by the time I finally got off work. Even managed to get the WDC formatting done. What I couldn’t do until I got home was do a Grammarly check and then Book them. It still took me another couple of hours once I got home. Even with the WDC formatting already done it still took me about two hours to get them both booked. I did it in plenty of time for the contest deadline at noon WDC time, but for a long while there I was afraid I was not going to make it. Probably wouldn’t have if I did work a double shift, and for a long time it looks like that was what I was going to do but luckily, I got off early enough to get it done once I got home.

True, it didn’t give me a lot of time for sleeping so that I could come back into work this afternoon and evening, but it did give me about five hours. It’s not a lot of time, but it’s enough for the second shift. There are only a few hours of darkness to worry about. If this was the third shift aka the graveyard shift, then I would have been more worried about staying awake. I have worked a lot of graveyard shifts with less sleep than that, and I had no trouble staying awake. So, I wasn’t really worried about it.

Of course, I might have fallen asleep if I didn’t have something to do at work aka my writing and watching television on my cell phone. If I couldn’t have done that then I might have been more worried. Luckily, I did have my writing to work on today. I started my second Outlines for my two novels. True, I haven’t gotten any of the actual Outlines started, but I have set up my parts for each of the Chapters. So, now all I need to do is write those parts. Which I should be able to start working on them tomorrow when I get up. I might work on them before I go to sleep tonight, but I doubt it. With only a few hours of sleep I’m probably going to be going to sleep very quickly tonight. That’s if I get off on time. Which is extremely unlikely if it’s anything like last night and this morning. The only difference is that if I do need to do a double shift I can do it since I am off for the next couple of day.
