December twenty-first – Updating My Script Writing Project
Updating My Script Writing Project

Yesterday was a very good day for my Treasure Finders project. Not only did a finish the one-sentence scenes for my movie Treatment, but I also got the first two episodes character scenes for their Treatments done. I also got the Outline character paragraphs started too. So far, it’s just the character names. The first thing I’m going to do today at work is to do the one-sentence for the Outline paragraphs. Then I will work start to work on their Treatments.

I don’t know if I’m going to be able to finish both Treatments today or not. It may all depend on how much work I’m going to be doing at work today. If it’s anything like yesterday, or worse, then I probably won’t get them both done. Shouldn’t have too much problem getting the first one done. It’s the second one I’m more worried about. If I can get most of the second one done, I can maybe finish it up after I get home from work. Then again, I might not be able to do it. It all depends on how tired I am when I get home from work.

As of right now, the plans for this weekend are the same. Whether I get the second episode one-sentences done or not, I’m going to spend this weekend working on the Outline paragraphs. If I need to spend a little bit of those two days working on the one-sentence, I still have a good chance that I will be able to get the Outline paragraphs done by the end of the weekend. Once again, a lot of that depends on work. Normally, Saturdays are relatively slow, and Sundays aren’t much faster, but with Christmas only a few days away it might not be a typical Saturday and Sunday.

I’ve got a very good chance of getting the Outline paragraphs done this weekend. At least I think that I do. I’ll know more about that when I do my next Blog entry. Whether I get them done or not, I should be ready to go into my next phase of this project. Which is to do the individual scene paragraphs for my Treatments. That is when it’s going to take some time to do. After all, a Treatment goes a lot deeper into a story than an Outline does.

Some writers like to put a little bit of dialogue into their Treatments. That okay. I’m just not one of them. I think it’s a distraction. Besides that, most of the time I think whatever is written in dialogue doesn’t end up getting put into the scripts. That’s often true with non-dialogue paragraphs too, but it’s not as hard to fix them than the ones with dialogue in them. At least it doesn’t for me.
