Sun
Chases away snow demons.
Revives March afternoons
and brings laughter to
frozen, sickly branches.

Spring
Resurrects to face a
sorrowful crowd of frigid followers.
A sacrifice of mirth and joy
to appease an arctic god.

Life
Begins anew with the promise of greenery.
A splash of rainbow petals
still stashed below the fluff of snow.
         Burdened by the sins of winter...
