Sonnet: "Longing for Some Cozy Warmth"
The heat of ev'ry day beads sweat on brow.
Each bath time brings me moment's sweet relief.
"A recent snow upon a heavy bough"
brings hope to soul, now filled with summer's grief.

This pleasant dream throughout the days of heat
dares plant some peace within the core of me.
To wake astride some blust'ry, snow-banked street
would bid me wrap up cozy now to be.

The little lights around each window's ledge
with fleecy coat upon my new-chilled skin
calls mind to share in Scrooge's redeemed pledge
to keep blest Christmas fully heart within.

The glistened pate may sit 'neath hopeful shade
with mind it's winter's peace inside displayed.
