Happy Birthday, My Dear!
My wife has had a wondrous birthday
all day long today.
I'm really glad, that she was born
one lovely winter's morn
to share my years now gray.

A youthful face came down that aisle
to meet me in full view
of all our friends, who shared a smile,
and join a home so new.

I see that lovely teenaged face
each morning when I wake.
I'd go again to that holy place
a bride for me to take.

As Robert Browning smoothly bade,
"Grow old with me. The best will be.
The last for which the first was made."
What lovely words! I agree with he.

I love you, Dear! You bring me cheer.
Your visage joy remaining clear.
To give you words of daily praise
is an easy task from my heart to raise.
"Trust God. See all, and have no fear."

My paraphrase references Robert Browning's original quote, which may be read here.
