Day Five- Tony Robbins would be disappointed
Write about a recent success. *Ha* Yours or someone else’s - your choice!
3/5/2020

Do you know what's sad? After this particular prompt, I've unfortunately got nothin' that comes to mind right now...
I'm not just saying that to be all mopey "oh no one ever gets what they want"- no that's not it.

It's just that when someone asks for a personal recent success story, I can't come up with it. I suspect that's because my idea of a "success story" has been overinflated in my own mind. Success story means winning the lottery or launching my own rocket Elon Musk style.

My first impression of success is to go big or go home. Which is probably a set up for the opposite right? But as soon as I start to ponder upon the idea of achieving success on my terms- someone under the age of fifteen exclaims from the upstairs game room: "OH MY GOD I CAN'T BELIEVE I FINALLY COMPLETED THIS GAME!!"

This is no exaggeration. The declaration is triumphant. It is ecstatic. It is what actually just happened as I was contemplating the idea of what success looks like.

So maybe success has less to do with achievement and more to do with self-satisfaction? Cause imma be totally honest right now and say I don't give a ripe f*** about this stupid game- although maybe I should because these kids are making tons of moolah these days playing video games.

But Is success measured personally or by those around us?? This one escapes me.

Discuss.
