Social Distance
A sickness of the human soul
is a distance far between.
To make our hearts now fully whole
a touch is somehow seen.

We write our words and call our friends
to keep our souls in touch,
but skin untouched makes hearts to rend.
We need our warmth so much.

But saddest of the lasting truths
is Hell's great darkness Room.
No human touch we loved as youths.
All separate as each tomb.

Please come to Christ, He lately calls.
His arms are the warmest flesh.
He touches comers, one and all
His Hope is daily fresh.
