Sunset
The backlit trees make new skylines
for country settings through the land.
Tree species here are oft the pines.
Unburned like flames in rows, they stand.

Not orange trees, but orange glows
in waltz-ed dance 'mid yellow dress.
The running Earth meets night it knows.
For hours it waits for sun's first tress.

The warmest hues of sky's intent
will tint the dusk in pastel ways.
The hearts of all be "Where it went?"
when ending all the earthly days.
