Day Five of The Bard's Hall Contest
Day Five of The Bard's Hall Contest finds me back on the front porch. It is a warm sunny day today. Perfect blue sky Montana day. We really do have wonderful blue skies here in Big Sky country.

Yesterday on the way home I stopped at the Dollar Tree and bought some reading glasses so now I can read that giant Stephen King book - about time travel and altering reality. Perhaps stopping JFK's death. Hmmm.... Plus I can now do computer work.

I was given a choice before cataract surgery - do you want to see up close or far away? That question determined what kind of lens they put in my eyes. So I chose far away. But the caveat was I would probably need reading glasses forever. Oh well. Getting older is not for the weak.

Life in Roundup is gearing up for summer. The city pool is now open. Good thing. The kids live in the pool all summer. The pool is free for all. It was established decades ago, after city leaders got tired of drownings in the Musselshell River. There are free swim lessons for all. There is also a swim team that travels the state. Nice perk for living here.

The museum right across the street from me is now open. Hubby and I will go there this afternoon as volunteers. They have some new displays this year. I hope we have some visitors. Otherwise, it'll be a nice quiet time to talk and read.

I'm trying to get the writing group in town up and running again. The leader is backing off from wanting to do this, for some reason. She's dumped it in my lap. So I'm trying to gather up the flock and get things going. We'll see what happens.

I'm on the Southeast Montana Tourism Board and things with tourism this year are really taking a hit. We were to have an in person board meeting in a few weeks, but that got canceled. Now we're meeting via ZOOM. I have a problem with internet meetings. I guess I understand everyone's concern, but I don't have to like it.

My neighbor just came out to mow her front lawn. So, off to chores inside. Lots to do before we leave for the afternoon. My faithful robin bids me adieu.
