Almost Twenty Paragraphs Written Today
Almost Twenty Paragraphs Written Today

It looks like I may just be able to get this blog entry written and posted at a time that I want to do it. Usually, there is one reason or another why I can’t write it so that I can post it around seven P.M. WDC time. That has what I wanted to do for my second day off from work. But normally there is at least one thing that stops me from doing it. Today, I don’t think there will be anything to stop me from doing it.

Speaking about today, I have gotten around twenty paragraphs written on my second scriptwriting project, The Problems with Death. That includes four Establish Shots. Which means that I wrote about sixteen scene paragraphs too. True, that may not read like a lot. But I think that it is. Especially, considering I’m usually lucky if I can do about half that many. And most of the time I’m lucky if I can do about a fourth of that many.

I was right for once about my brother and I not having too much that needed to be done today. It was done just before noon WDC time. True, I needed to catch up on a little bit of sleep from not getting too much last night. But even with that I still had about five hours to write these paragraphs. That averages about four an hour.

Don’t ask me how I did so many in five hours because I don’t know why. But I did it. Once I started writing I couldn’t stop until I finished it. Of course, I had to do a lot of re-writes with some of these paragraphs. But most of them weren’t too bad. The ones that I did re-write were only a word here or there that I needed to erase or re-write it a different way so that the number of lines for that scene or Establishing Shot stayed within the number that I wanted it to be for them.

What does that mean? It means that when it comes to my Outlines and Treatments, I have a set number of lines that I want them to be based on that character, Establishing Shot, or scene. I know that with scripts there are no numbering of lines. But there are for my Outlines and Treatments. That’s just the way that I prefer to write them.

When it comes to Outlines and Treatments there are no set rules about how to write them. There are some with what should be in them and how they should be written. Especially, with Treatments. But there aren’t any in the way that you write them. You can write them any way that you want to do it. This is my way of writing them.
