I'll try to reconstruct. The heroine is 20, having completed two years at a college back East (Westerns never specify which college). She's home for the summer. She loves horses and outdoor living. An only child, she wants to run the ranch some day, first with her father, then alone. She's studied French, history, art, the usual. But she also took economics, financing, and business management. She plans to pursue more business and agriculture courses when she returns to school, along with requirements of literature and so forth. She's a good student. She's down to earth and well-rounded, a hard worker and serious thinker.
She was named Victoria for Queen Victoria, and went by Vickie.
