Shakespearean Sonnet: "Sentinels"
The stalwart watchers in the verdant yard
all tow'r above the blooms and man alike.
Recalling truths once writ by ancient bard
"The rose still sweet would be though named a 'pike'."

The pine trees stand a long time in their place
as angel barons, o'er the master's realm.
As sights of life to mark the unseen face,
the Lord's own servants steer this earthly helm.

The pinkish face of other-nam-ed rose,
awestruck as gallant, regal soldiers stand.
Their peace secured by watchful, waiting those,
who keep their post, according to God's Plan.

The Lord entrusts the keeping of our days
to sentinels, who serve, though naught displays.
