A journal begun on Thursday, January 22, 2009
This blog might have been started on former Senator Birch Bayh's 81st birthday (1/22/09), but it isn't a political journal. It's just slices of life. If you don't believe me (or even if you do), just read it...

So Far, So Good
February 1, 2011 at 10:53pm
My lights gave a small flicker once--not enough to even shut my computer off. Later, I was without Internet access for about five minutes. My porch hasn't collapsed, I'm warm, and have plenty to eat. There will be one more line of the sleet and freezing rain coming through during the next couple of hours, give or take. After that, the worst of it will be over, and there will just be lots of snow tomorrow. The ice will be clinging to tree limbs, branches, and twigs tomorrow, an... [Read more]
Response To Weather: "Say WHAT!?!"
January 31, 2011 at 8:46pm
How on earth can it be several degrees below freezing, not getting anywhere close to the freezing point at any time soon, and still have freezing rain, drizzle, sleet, and ice in the forecast!?! This HAS to be just about the strangest weather I've ever heard of! ... [Read more]
Stuart V. Goldberg
January 18, 2011 at 9:17am
Last July, I met a really unique and beautiful person named Stuart V. Goldberg, and, now, I've written something very special about him. What makes what I've written about him very special? It's because what I've written describes him, and he's very special! If more people in the world thought and acted like Stuart, it would be much more cool and entertaining to build people up instead of tearing people down and hating on them. Here's a link to a blog-entry wh... [Read more]
New Year's Eve Note
December 31, 2010 at 6:31pm
This will be short 'n' sweet, as I'm trying to hurry to get ready to go out. To find out what my mom and I will be up to, you can go here: {link:http://ajville.blogspot.com/2010/12/journey-into-another-year.html} Of course, you can also take the scenic route that will eventually lead to the same place but will give you some more neat graphics to look at: {link:http://1952shout.blogspot.com/2010/12/2010-christmas-newsletter-series-part_31.html} Here's hoping tha... Why Put Off Until Tomorrow What You Can Be Enjoying Today!?!
December 27, 2010 at 1:24pm
I'm considering having Bud to come out today instead of tomorrow to re-arrange my furniture so that I can enjoy the new "look" of things all that much sooner. Still undecided, but it's a thought. . . There's a dead mouse in the mix somewhere--a VERY dead mouse! At this time, he's entombed in my clutter, and I'm wondering just how dead he's gotten between the time that he died and now. Should be an interesting discovery--hopefully, not too interest... [Read more]
Ever Hear Of tagvillage? How About AJville?
December 24, 2010 at 3:05am
As I've been saying for quite awhile, I've been looking for a way to bring myself together in Cyberspace. I'm happy to report that it's finally coming together! Just click on AJ :-) below, and you will be taken to a link to a website I've created in blog format that will make it so. This website is called AJville. You will also find some links to a place called tagvillage when you get to AJville. I hope you'll check it out. It's a new social site on... [Read more]

I've just finished giving an Awardicon to an absolutely-amazing item: I learned about this site when one of my own blogs: received an Awardicon from its founder: Brooke can rest assured that her site of resources and reassurance has earned a special place in my IYN blog and can be found by going here: ... I'm Not Like Charlie
December 18, 2010 at 8:04pm
There's this oldie done by three guys calling themselves The Kingston Trio about an unfortunate man named Charlie who can't get off of a commuter train called the MTA because he doesn't have enough tokens. The refrain of the song goes: "But did he ever return? No, he never returned-- And is fate is still unlearned. He may ride forever 'neath the streets of Boston. He's the man who never returned." In stark contrast, I'm the woman who DID return. My... [Read more]
58!
December 12, 2010 at 11:18am
Sometime before the day is over, I'll actually be 58 years old and counting. Although this is December 12, 2010, I'm actually still only 57 and counting, if you want to be technical about it. I was actually born at 1:27 in the afternoon back in 1952. Since there have been time changes over the years, I don't even know if the current 1:27 p.m. was the 1:27 p.m. of that time in Anderson, Indiana USA. All I know is that--right or wrong--I think of 1:27 p.m. here in Anderson as... [Read more]
Happy Birthday To Our Amazing Storymaster!!!
December 10, 2010 at 6:51pm
It suddenly occurred to me that somebody very special was having a birthday, and that somebody just happened to be !!! This led me to go looking for just the right birthday card for him, and I found one by going here: This is just one section of a very large cNote store, and I think that it would be a great idea if you checked it out and see what grabs you when it comes to sending something to and/or anyone else who might like to get a cNote from you. I'll be back here a l... [Read more]
Dear Mister Modem: Please Try To Be More Dependable!
December 7, 2010 at 12:09pm
I'm having a time with my modem these days. Up until not quite an hour ago, I had no Internet connection--which had been the same story since sometime early Saturday morning. Since I had various offline things I could be doing such as reading books and continuing to write on my own, I could live with that--at least temporarily. However, when "temporarily" began to look more and more like "permanently," I was starting to Jones. I came in here to work on my book, and ... [Read more]
Goose Eggs Be Gone!!!
November 30, 2010 at 7:03pm
Well!!! (deep subject) I seem to be (for now, anyway) making good on my promise not to be such a stranger around here. At one time, I was over here day in and day out creating and posting various items. Then, a combination of things started happening which distracted me from WDC and other sites: health, financial, death, computer problems, IYN business, etc. Actually, I was over here more than I appeared to be, working behind the scenes on some projects from time to time. Major Communication Breakdown!!!
November 26, 2010 at 3:58pm
Had modem trouble and was totally offline for at least a day-and-a-half. Was writing my book and wrote "Aunt Kate" as part of the story--at which point my modem came alive again! Coincidence? I think not!!! Have more to write later, God willing and my Internet connection stays stable, but I was wondering if anybody else was having trouble connecting to Facebook. Not sure if this is a technical problem or if somebody decided to become "offended" by me and report me. ... [Read more]
Turning In Early--I Hope!
November 22, 2010 at 9:46pm
I have one good day where I can get out before Friday, and that's tomorrow, so I'm going to turn in early tonight and stay in bed for longer than normal so that I can give my legs a good rest before venturing out without refreshing my bandages. Going to repeat the process tomorrow night, and, then, do my bandaging. This is about the long and short of it for now. I know this is rather boring, but I'll be writing something better either tomorrow or the next day. I'm going to ta... [Read more]

This seems to be a great time to really start using this blog as a journal on a regular basis, as it has now become part of a special blog-entry promoting seasonal activities for IYN called . This particular entry not only will be used to promote IYN activities, but it will also be my 2010 Christmas Newsletter online, a place of news and networking, and then some. My Port Is Like My Pad
June 28, 2010 at 5:12pm
You should see my pad! I take that back--maybe, you shouldn't at this time. Even as a casual person who doesn't have to have everything in a certain place in order not to have the hairs on the back of my neck to stand up, the clutter around here is even more "casual" than what I prefer. Anyway, I have plans to better organize it very soon. However, I'm going to start with something easier: my Internet life. Actually, I've already started on the latter and wi... [Read more]

Rainy Day Plans & Non-Plans
May 11, 2010 at 12:56am
It has pretty much decided to start raining through the night and most of the day tomorrow (which is, by now, actually today--as in May 11: Eric Burdon's birthday). There's no reason to go out tomorrow (later today), so my game plan is simply to act as if I'm off somewhere on vacation and my home is my retreat. I'll eat when I want to; sleep when I want to; be online when I want to; and do whatever kinds of housecleaning I end up doing when I want to. The operative phras... [Read more]
Did Some & Doing Some
May 9, 2010 at 2:39am
Well! Here is my progress report re: : On Saturday, I got somewhat domestic and cleaned up my bathroom as best as I could considering everything. I have a leak somewhere, so my toilet bowl gets at least somewhat rusty almost as soon as I get it cleaned. What I need to get is one of those Scrubbing Bubbles wands that helps to maintain my toilet's good looks between cleanings. I've never gotten one before, but I've seen them advertised on TV. But I used Lysol toilet bowl ... [Read more]
In No Particular Order Unless Order Is Called For
May 8, 2010 at 9:45am
As I begin this entry, it's a few minutes away from 9:30 in the morning on May 8, 2010, and I'm thinking of things I want to do today sometime. I hope that, by the end of the day, at least some of them will have been made reality. So here goes. . . Today (in no particular order unless order is called for) I will. . . Eat several meals of various sizes throughout the day to keep up my energy. Finish and post a very special piece I'm writing about Biloxi, Mississippi that... [Read more]
My Book Must Be Scared Of Me!
May 5, 2010 at 1:48pm
My book--that is, the manuscript I've been working on for what seems like forever--must be scared of me, because its latest version seems to have gone into hiding. I have some earlier versions, but am missing the one where I left off last. Later today, Mark is going to help me to find it all the way from Madison, Tennessee, and I can start working on it again. I'm going to make a special folder for the latest version and keep it there. Hopefully, it will be finished later th... [Read more]
Last Week's Confidential Activity
March 7, 2010 at 10:32pm
I've been involved in some very confidential activity for the past few days--at least so far as putting information out in Cyberspace where everybody can read it goes. No, it's not cloak-and-dagger--just activity involving someone who isn't into computers and doesn't want his/her business disclosed in a public place where somebody might read it whom this person wouldn't want reading it. I have some friends like that--both male and female--and I respect their wishes. O... [Read more]
Pulling An Uncle Don
March 4, 2010 at 7:17am
When we first moved to the farm back in 1954 (shortly after I turned a year old, so I don't personally remember this incident but have simply heard the story), my mom looked at all of the weeds and tall grass around the house where the former owners (who had health problems) had allowed everything to grow out of control, and she said, "How are we EVER going to fix this!?!" to which Uncle Don pulled up a few weeds and tall blades of grass, and calmly replied, "Like this. . ."... Tomorrow--or SOME tomorrow when I'm more rested--I will be changing the world and setting it on fire. Before that? I think I'm going to play a game or two of Bubble Popp over at Facebook. . . ... [Read more]

The Joy Of Custom Linking At WDC
November 12, 2009 at 10:09am
Right at the moment, I'm working on a project of making the WDC custom link option really work for me. When I get it built (and, even then, it will be under construction), I'll be able to easily visit some of my other favorite sites while remaining right here at WDC! This will also mean that I'll be less likely to have a bunch of windows open at once on my computer screen. This is going to be so helpful and handy for me! Cheers! ... [Read more]

It has a growing number of neat entries in it that are displayed up to 14 at a time on the main page and can be found in the archives even after that. Imagine That! It's Almost Halloween!
October 28, 2009 at 8:59am
This year has certainly gone by quickly, to say the least, and it's almost Halloween! At this time, I'm working on a new website here that will (hopefully) draw a lot of my little pieces together into one (somewhat) organized "container." We can only hope, anyway... I'm actually doing something I haven't done in awhile: Having a semi-regular bedtime. It doesn't happen at the very same time every night, but there's a certain area of time (anywhere betwee... Are You Ready For The Really Good News!?!
August 4, 2009 at 11:49pm
Former President Bill Clinton has proven successful in getting journalists, Laura Ling and Euna Lee, released from a North Korea prison where they had originally been sentenced to serve over a dozen years of hard labor after being convicted of trumped-up charges in a kangaroo court! This is certainly something to celebrate! Below, find links leading to wonderful news stories about this... Slowly, But Surely, Things Are Getting Done...
August 4, 2009 at 9:04pm
I've just returned here from taking a break to have a Wendy's single with everything, a baked potato with broccoli and cheese, and a large glass of orange juice along with my evening supplements. One nice thing about being very busy is that it really doesn't give me much time to eat.. Anyway, I'm now back at my computer once more organizing my WDC port as well as various other parts of my (Cyber)life. There are little snatches in there of organizing my "real" life... [Read more]
For The Longer Version, Go Here...
August 4, 2009 at 8:40pm
This is the longer version of how this blog began and how it got its name. This was once what the introduction looked like before I decided to streamline it. Enjoy! Last year, I began the following journal: Thanks to being busy plus having a lot of computer problems (the last episode keeping me out of Cyberspace for over four months!), there aren't a whole lot of entries in it. I'm hoping to do better with this one. Notice that it was begun to the 81st. b... [Read more]
The Word In The Middle Is My Middle Name!

If you've been watching my port, you will know that I've been busy here arranging things. I'm getting ready to introduce a brand-new blog (for one thing). Long time...no write...sorry about that, but I've not only been going in a number of different directions but, also, I've been suffering the consequences of those 36 - 48 hour days I was creating for myself to make up for lost time after over four months without a computer.
