The trials/tribulations of creating "Insight". The story where dreams come true.
Aubrey Scott, an awkward, introverted freshman at Valley Lake University has the ability to transcend into peoples’ dreams and become an observer in their thoughts.  On her way back to school from spring break she meets Phillip Andrews, an outgoing college senior who lives life on the edge and has an unknowing gift to predict the future in his dreams.  When he falls asleep during their flight, Aubrey steps into his dream and sees his visions of their plane crashing.  She realizes his ability to dream of the future as the events come true.  They survive the crash and she befriends him to learn more about his dream predictions.  While exploring Phillips visions of the future, she exposes a dream-walker on campus and Aubrey becomes trapped in his malevolence thoughts.  She escapes, but he plots revenge against her.  They must use their combined abilities to stop the dream-walker from his destructive plans.  During their journey of discoveries, Aubrey falls in love with Phillip, but he’s hiding a secret and holding his feelings for her back.

Each day I woke up with a purpose; to write! Since the completion of my book, I wake up feeling lost and not knowing which direction to go. Should I review another story, should I edit my own, should I continue to query agents, would my time be better spent if I let a professional edit or should I just begin writing the next sequel to Insight and say to heck with it all..I'll worry about editing later - after the books are all completed.

Working full time and spending time with my husband and daughter consume most hours of the day. There’s such a small amount of dedicated time each morning to do so many things. It seems like an impossible task to do everything. It’s time to set some goals! I guess if I put it out there, it means I’m committed to doing them. Here we go:

• I’ll read/review a minimum of two stories per week (I set a low target goal on this for a reason - I’ll explain later.)

• I’ll edit one chapter of Insight per day

• I’ll update my blog page on my progress each day

• I will not query anymore agents until each chapter of Insight has been reviewed on writing.com

• I’ll dedicate time each day to writing an outline to the Insight sequel

All of this before the sun comes up each morning!

I thought writing a story was difficult; the struggle to formulate my thoughts into words and spending an hour to write a single paragraph, only to edit it a thousand times. I realize now - writing is easy compared to the effort it takes to get a book published. It took a year to write the story and I'll probably be dead before it gets published. It's a dream to one day see my book on the shelves, but I'm hopeful and not discouraged. It's my first attempt at writing anything and I can't complain because there are many experienced and school prepped writers who face a similar battle.
