Writing myself into the story |

Writing is something I've always wished to be good at. And disciplined at. And I've not yet succeeded long term. A Facebook group, Brilliant and Amazing Writers and Mothers, has helped to motivate me in terms of my writing. This is my second blog, the first is by the same name on Wordpress. The Wordpress blog is rather more eclectic, whereas this one will be more focussed on developing my writing skills. |
| Not so much writing done past few days. More trying to learn everything about everything. I've gotten hooked on Kahn Academy and am finds the Art History lessons, in particular, absolutely fascinating. It's giving me the genesis of ideas for a piece of fiction. Another course, on FutureLearn this time, is about King Richard III and the War of the Roses. This is another source for ideas, as well as being incredibly fascinating. Plus I had my test last night. It's for my Te Reo Māori class. I passed. But that took a little more study time. So there's the entire world to learn, and the entire world from which to solicit ideas. Now to see which ideas percolate nicely. |
I wrote a short story yesterday.
It's kinda creepy and I'm wondering if I'm gonna turn into a horror writer. Not a genre I'm particularly interested in. Anyway, I won the Writers Cramp contest for the day. And there were three other entries too. Meaning I actually had competition. |
