Thanks for your entry in the Bard's Hall Contest. Word Count was listed in accordance with the rules.

I thought the opening was engaging and the salutation addressed a reader. The letter takes a look at the author's life, where it was going and how it COVID had influenced change. The letters ends on an upbeat note.

This was vary fun short story, I had no idea what was going to happen next but I found it quite funny. I was a bit surprised at the end, but looking back I could see how all that would make sense.

Experiencing malaise,
and a creeping fear
that there's no point
to life's brutality.

Life is pointless. We are all going to die anyway. I don't get why something so hard is so pointless.

When the Sun visits me...

Happily jumping up and about,
Turning my frown way around,
Crumbling all signs of gloom,
A ray of light shining through.

Its a slight kiss on my lips.
Its a warm shawl on my skin.
Its bright and truly holy glow,
Reminds my soul that it must burn.

Burn through all odds of dark days,
And it's ugly, mocking, shadowy ways.

Just as Sun's rays
Fought through dark as it did,
I, too, am strong
And I will win.
