This is the place where creators can discuss some ideas on different scenarios I think up. If you want to put your thinking caps on and brainstorm, then join in on the fun.
I, for one, will approach the first non-hostile magic creature I come across and offer free room and board in this strange world of ours in exchange for a few magic lessons.
Anything can happen in a dream. Often there's a struggle. That is when I'm happy to wake up, with a sigh of relief, and realise that it was just a dream.
Other times it's deeply pleasurable in a sense of total understanding and unity.
I had a buyer (fellow artist in his own unique way)l, if I remember right he did sculpting in bronze. He was located faraway. Again, during this same move it was punctured. I was pretty upset about it and figured it was ruined.
Much later I repaired it. I still have the painting.
My inspiration came from viewing Christian Riece Lassen's artwork, although not exactly the same as his. I met him once at a grand opening in La Jolla, California.. He didn't see that painting but another one I made that was much smaller. Also an imagined under the ocean scene.
I'm not sure that I have only created the large paintings with the columns. It was on wood. During a move it was list. Somewhere someone has the painting.
The other oil painting was of the ocean it was almost as tall as a door. The viewpoint was both above and below the ocean. seaweed, octopus, sea otter.
Hello {useer:dnadream} and welcome to the blog. What you said seems very interesting. With our new found ability to breathe and survive we come across remnants of a ancient civilization long lost to the annuls of time. Sounds Lovecraftian in nature. Have you written anything with the dream in mind? I've had a few dreams of my own.
To TaH2o Me personally I don't think we have the ability to tame the oceans as we can on land and air. Simply because the ocean is too vast for us. I base this off of the little control we have of the sea. Some say 98% of the ocean's are left unexplored because of our limited capability, heck there are some land areas that are left unexplored. Despite our accomplishments on land, in a way we are still at its mercy. Earthquakes, wildfires, Tsunamis, Tornados are one of the few things that plagues us today I doubt the ocean would be as merciful. And thanks for joining the conversation its good to see you.
I tend to follow Kรฅre Enga back in Montana's train of thought here. I see humanity destroying the depths of the ocean just as we have the land and air. As far as weapons, I am at a loss as to what would not, in some way, affect the life teeming within the ocean's depths. I do hope that the sharks, jellyfish, octopus, whales, and whatever else, help keep these humans shenanigans to a minimum!
When I was in one of the first art class at a community college, each student created something we imagined.
One lady talked about her painting and explained that she had envisioned these people who live/ed under the sea. I don't remember what else she had said.
I believe my vision might have been the one that had these ancient columns and steps. We were required to include four things in our design--
architecture, repetition, environment, and one other, which I don't remember, maybe movement.
So I had the columns, the steps leading to them, the sunset, a cat on the steps, and a scarf blowing through the wind. I've always been fascinated by the columns. I'm guessing they are roman columns or from Greece.
It may have been inspired from a dream I had once.
Looking out from the top of the steps, I saw no people anywhere. As strange as dreams often are there was additional steps, leading downward under the ground, to a room. The circular room had many entrance ways made of rock. There was some kind of lighting. Maybe torches. I don't remember much of anything else.
When I woke up, and in hindsite I wondered why I was there.
