| "Are you sure we're on the right road?" Bobby asked when the trees started looking dead and lifeless. "Yes, dear, I'm sure," Alice replied as she kept her eyes on the road. Seeing the trees though she started to have doubts. "Check the GPS please. I think we made the wrong turn. I don't remember trees looking dead and lifeless on our trips to Milky Way Mountain," Dillon said concerned as the scenery looked dead and lifeless. Suddenly a dead end sign appeared up ahead. "What now? A dead end? That can't be right. I swear I've made the right turn. I wanted to avoid the toll road up ahead," Alice burst out and slowed down and was going to make a u-turn at the next intersection when the GPS turned on. "Turn left at Willows Road." So Alice turned left. "Well, we're heading to the toll road. I remember the toll road many times. You shouldn't have dodged it. It's the only way. The best route," Dillon scowled before leaning over and giving Alice a kiss on the cheek. "Yes, dear. Next time I'll take the toll road. I've learned my lesson. Wait, is that a deer?" Alice slammed on the brakes just in time for a deer to cross the road. "Yes, that was. Luckily we avoided hitting it. I'm surprised to see wildlife in this deserted place. Now, back to the road to Milky Way Mountain, shall we?" Dillon realized he was gripping air only. | The chicken named Angie wanted a couple of things: a bottle and a shoe. These weren't just any ordinary things. The bottle played the music of a lullaby when opened and the shoe enabled any wearer to become fast. So fast that they couldn't get caught. Except for maybe being chased by a cheetah. Angie had had enough of being bullied around and set out to find these two magical items. Day and night she searched high and low amongst the prairie. None of it could be found. Then she came across a merchant with these two magical items. Quickly, she put on the shoe and grabbed the bottle and returned home before the merchant had a chance to know what they were missing. Angie put her bullies to sleep with the lullaby and enjoyed the empty space to roam around. "Now, they need to eat and drink of course. I made sure they got that. But anytime I feel threatened, this bottle will protect me. I'll name it the Sleepy Bottle. And this shoe is amazing. I've ran around in it for ages and it hasn't worn out yet. I'll name it the Invincible Shoe. Now no one can bully me or else they will get a taste of their own medicine. Hope they enjoy sleeping on the ground," Angie said. And the bullies stopped bullying her after learning of her secret weapon, leaving her in peace. They hated sleeping outside. | The artist went home to grab some water for her exhibit at the museum. Her home was just a block away. Once she reached home, she noticed something was amiss. So she walked to the kitchen to find the sink flooded with water. Turning off the faucet, she noticed the water had gone all over the floor. All she needed was a vial of water. She called her husband to come home immediately and clean the kitchen. Then she hurried back to the museum. Her exhibit looked parched. Quickly, she put on the spray top and sprayed her exhibit. It came to life. Then someone walked up to it and announced he was ready to buy it and made an offer she and the museum couldn't refuse. The trip home was worth it. | "Ignore what the world thinks about you. You are beautiful. You just need to show it," Lily's grandmother told Lily as she played with her food. "But look at all these people in the magazine. They are skinny and beautiful. I want to be just like them too. I need to stop eating," Lily pondered. Lily's grandmother took away the magazine. "It's not the outward appearance that matters. It's in your heart. Let me tell you a story. And I want you to eat your food. Trying to get skinny when you are already skinny isn't healthy." "Okay, grandma. Go ahead with your story. And fine, I'll eat my food." "Take the road less traveled on. It's filled with riches and blessings beyond your imagination. That said, there was once upon a time ten friends. Nine friends were beautiful, and one was ugly. Outwardly. They came across a lost cow. The nine friends that were beautiful didn't want anything to do with the cow. One by one they just sneered at at and walked away. But the one friend that was ugly called the owner of the lost cow and gave directions to finding it. The owner came and took the cow, leaving the girl with lots of gold in return. He asked about her friends but she said they went on their way to a birthday party and whoever is late gets left out. So the owner of the cow said he would throw a party she wouldn't regret and she would be the star of the party. She is the one who is beautiful." "That's a wonderful story grandma. Okay, I will finish my food and show the world that I am beautiful. I will take that road less traveled on. It will be one kind of a wild ride." "That's the spirit." Lily got up from the table after finishing her food and put on a dress with abstract design. She smiled. She thought about her new journey to taking the road less traveled on. Already she was feeling better already. Then she went to peek at the stage. Many seats were filled and the next contestant was already on their way. Soon it would be her turn. She was the last one on the list to go. Her last name was Zylia. "Remember to shine," Lily's grandmother whispered into her ear. "I will," she whispered back. "Next up is Lily Zylia," the announcer called out. Lily walked across the stage in her new dress. The audience gasped. Then she did her dance, making it up as she went along due to her nervousness and forgetting the proper moves to the music. As the music ended the floor shook. She felt as nervous as ever, but yet she knew she had done something. Then, as she rose, she saw the judges had given her a perfect score. She had done it! Even if it wasn't the proper dance picked to the music, she had wowed the judges and done an excellent job. She had passed this level of competition. Her grandmother was right.
