Finale Round 4
Triolet

A triolet (TREE-o-lay) is a sweet little French form that will make your eyes roll around in your head.

8 line poem with 2 basic rhymes, and 2 repeating lines set up like this (with A1 as the first repeating line and B2 as the second repeating line):

A1
B2
A
A1
A
B
A1
B2

A and B are the 2 rhymes. Sample:

She had them write a triolet
To make their eyes roll in their heads
To brighten up the holiday
She had them write a triolet
She didn’t care what they might say
French sugarplums were in their beds
She had them write a triolet
To make their eyes roll in their heads

Topic: Something round that can roll. (Marbles, balls, some sugarplums, your heads, etc.)
