Tedious Citadel Task #35. Come up with an idea for a new contest. Write an entry as to what it would be about. 500 words. Points: 1,000 The Community "Plug" Reviewers Contest The "The Shameless "Plug" Page"  and its sister, the "The GC+ Shameless "Plug" Page" , are great places to advertise a special item for review. But as a member who has had an item posted for quite some time AND has never received a review for it, I think more light should be shed on these oft-neglected pages. Thus, I see a need for a contest to increase awareness of both Plug pages. It should be called the Community Plug Reviewers, or CPR for short. Both pages are In and Out items, meaning you can post the item number to be reviewed along with a short description at the bottom of the page, press Add Plug! and your item will be added to the list. Each page has specific rules for posting content and may contain up to 75 listings. The contest would require members to select any item from the list, complete a review (number of characters to be determined), and post a link to that review in the contest forum. A weekly contest deadline will be imposed for control purposes. Prizes will consist of a Genre merit badge relating to the item reviewed for the best review in the opinion of the judge. One merit badge will be awarded for each five reviews posted. The judge has the discretion to award an Honorable Mention prize of 3000 gift points. Such a contest is not only necessary, but is sure to highlight an often overlooked aspect of Writing.Com. Word Count: 241 words  |
