BLOG RING

I'm not really sure about what is expected of the blog ringers.
Is it to just blog daily and comment on other blogs?
Please forgive the ignorance on my part, I'm a little bit on the dingy side.
But if this is all that's to be expected, then there is no difference from what I'm doing now, exept of course the contest thing. And What do these contests consist of?
I'm sorry, I really am interested in joining, just need to know a little more about it.
