"Like a Song" Poetry Contest
Prompt- And now it's too late the end is knocking on the door.
Title- Forevers End

I never knew eternity was really as quick as they said.
And now it's too late the end is knocking on the door.
I've become attached,
Made the one mistake they said to avoid.
But I did it anyway, never meaning to.

And now it's too late the end is knocking on the door.
They've come to retrieve me.
They've come to receive me.
I know I can't do anything,
But I'll try it anyway.

I want to stay.
Never letting go.
If I can be with you, I promise I'll be happier.
If you say you need me, then I'll fight to be with you.
And now it's too late the end is knocking on the door.

You said it so many time, why can't you say it now?
I did all I could, and I know you did too.
And now it's too late the end is knocking on the door.

You said you would be there forever.
Now we have reached forevers end.
All we had was a big mistake.
All we shared were misunderstandings.
Now your gone,
and I'm barely alive.

You broke my heart.
You broke me.

I lay here at night, starring deep into the sky.
And now it's too late the end is knocking on the door.
I'll never be the same, and it's all your fault.

And now it's too late the end is knocking on the door.
Though nothing has changed.
Deep into the night I still say, "I love you."
