NaNoWriMo Brainstorming Forum

Hello everyone,

I wanted to introduce myself and ask a question of the group.

My name is Jenn and this wil be my second NaNo Prep. I did not actually complete NaNo Wrimo the first time around because my firs novel was pretty musch written without an ending. I have a few draft copies of my second novel but I thin I might have to go back and start from scratch.

My issue is that my main characters are not really the focus of the first few chapters. They focus more on the couples that will eventually produce my main characters.My intent for the remaining chapters is to focus on the growing lives of the main characters. I am not sure how to make that transition without it being too jarring for the reader. I was also considering scrapping those chapters but then I would be at a loss as to how to start my novel. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
