Hey all. For some reason, character creation has always been difficult for me. I admit that most of the time I kind of make them up as I go. Events occurring within the story help mold them, and ideas will come to me while I'm going about my day to shape them, but that's pretty much it. I've read several pieces about using character sheets, writing backstory, and knowing what their favorite brand of toothpaste is, but as someone who has a job and obligations it's hard to find the time for character creation in addition with just sticking to a regular writing schedule.
So my question to you guys: What's your process? Do you create/printout character sheets? How much time do you spend on the actual character creation? Any particular methods for choosing names?
Whatever you feel like sharing is mucho appreciated. :)
