Yeah. Maybe formula was a poor word choice. When I referred to A Haunting as being formulaic, it wasn't meant as a compliment.
When I read The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons by Dan Brown, I got the impression that this was an author who was just changing names and places. Otherwise, the stories seemed the same. In fairness, I don't know if his other books are like this. However, I think in comparing a process and a formula, we risk going into semantics.
