Lately, I have been having a hard time motivation to write. I posted my first short story, but the reviews have essentially been the same: a good plot and good dialogue, but your means of writing the story needs fixing. Honestly, I knew that these were problems of mine before I published it but just hearing it really got me thinking. I always wanted to write novels, but I clearly don't have the skills for it. I know the plot and settings in my head, but it always comes off as trash on paper. So, I've been thinking. What if I keep the story, but change my format for writing the story? Like instead of it being a short story, it could be a screenplay or something? But then the idea that I should just improve my skills so I can actually write a novel. However, right now it feels as if I'll be wasting my time if I do the latter. What do you guys think I should do?
