But to be more helpful, when you're submitting writing to the writing.com (WdC) site, you are saying this is ready for people to read and / or to review. Therefore, it should be free of mistakes to the best of YOUR ability. You should run it through a Word processing program, spell check, and grammar review; basically, you want your item to be all or mostly mistake free. It is too much work for the reader to have to wade through many mistakes.
Now, if you are a a non native English speaking writer, it's great to say so in your portfolio and in your items so we the people know you might have more grammatical and spelling errors and help you accordingly. We do that.
