As I said, there isn't any place to find members in bulk by demographic information. Most Groups don't set age limits, either. There are no guarantees that any demographic information people volunteer online is accurate. Finding Group items for members who have writing-type (usually) interests in common is possible, if the Group items exist and are public. Check the Browse By Type/Groups listing and enter your search words in the search bar on the listing page and see if anything comes up. Sometimes there isn't a Group item, or the Group item is private but a Forum item exists in public. To find those, check the Browse By Type/Forums listing for appropriate search words. [If there isn't such a group or forum, you could start one, and advertise in the newsfeed or options listed in Gaining Exposure For Your Items from Writing.Com 101 to invite them to "find" you.] You can collect your own list by Favorite-ing members as you find them and putting them into a special folder in your Favorites page. When you are considering adding a member to your favorites -- Someone who hasn't logged in within the last month (check the mouse-over on their Portfolio icon in their userlink for their Last On info) is probably not a good candidate. If their status is set to private, check whether their Review Request status is OFF (check the left click handle menu) -- if so, they're likely away. In the Mystery site newsletter, you can check the back issues to see which moderators have edited it, which members have commented in the Q&A section, and which members wrote the editors picks. You can go through the appropriate Browse By Genre listings to see who writes that kind of story, and add those members to your Favorites list. From the list in My Account/Favorites in that particular folder, you can go through and check portfolio information, and remove any Favorites that you eliminate as candidates. Open their portfolio and use the port search feature at the top of the left nav menu to check their portfolio for the genres that relate to your search words. Someone who writes a lot of that type of story is a better candidate than someone who only has a few like that in their port, because sometimes people write for contests outside their comfort zone. The two best ways to contact someone (without seeming like a stalker) to introduce yourself as someone looking for members with similar interests, is to review one of their appropriate items, or request a review from them, and invite them to respond if interested. [Bulk emailing and adding people to a Group item without advance permission is against the site rules.] Demographics info involves a lot more one-by-one research and is less likely to be accurate/available. If your age factor is important enough to exclude those who don't meet that criteria, you can go to a member's Biography tab and see whether they've shared their age. IMO the cost/benefit ratio is too high and the community isn't big enough to bother with anything more than that. Hope that helps.
