Noticing Newbies

Hi! My name is Jen. I was a member years ago. I recently have lost my job of 15 years due to their bankruptcy. I told myself that I would take the time off to try and get my writing going again.
I feel both lost and frustrated (not the least of which this will be the third time I am writing this as my laptop randomly has gone to another screen) because I have to serious contact with other writers. I have gotten a job reviewing books for a magazine (and I am beyond thrilled) but the reviews are not due til the first of the year. Nor can I manage to get any other writing jobs due to my lack of recent clips (which I more than understand).
I have recently joined a "local" writing group (30-45 minutes away) this morning. We'll see what happens.

So I am in need of support and help from other writers. And I hope I can do the same for others.
