It would help to have the member's username. Without it, I can't look up the account.

It is possible to get locked out of one's account for breaking the site rules, but it's also possible they tried to access a locked page from their browser favorite, while they could log in at the main site page with no problem if they tried. Or they might have mistyped their username or password, or other user error type of things.

When a paid membership expires -- after 6 weeks of reminder emails -- the member is not locked out of their account or their portfolio or their email. Their "over" items are locked, and their email space is likely to be full/overfull, but they can log in just fine to their free membership.

Per When Your Paid Membership Expires from Writing.Com 101 , the site provides a grace period while the "over" items are locked. If they renew their membership while the items are locked, the items are restored.
