Re: OT: Help with full sponsored acct recovery

Your member records show that you had an Upgraded membership that expired on 06-30-2005, which was likely a gifted 2- or 3-month membership -- ie., someone else paid for it. A gift is a one-time thing, not something that continues indefinitely.

For those who cannot afford to pay cash (whatever payment form they use) for a membership, there are two options.

1. Use the free account which is offered to everyone free of charge.

You can have 10 items at a time and edit them as you wish. With 10 Static items each able to hold 50K worth of file storage (approximately characters, not words), it's possible to post quite a bit of a book. Since you can delete and replace items at will, over time you can sequentially post and get reviews on a whole novel even if the whole novel will not fit into a free account at the same time. This site is a writers community and peer review site, not a publishing site, so it's not intended that work be posted here indefinitely.

2. Participate enough in the site to earn enough gift points to pay for a membership in gift points.

Gift points are valued at 100 GP = 1 cent US. Gift points can be earned by reviewing other writers, as well as by other methods -- see How to Acquire Gift Points from Writing.Com 101 . The Upgraded membership you had before costs 499,500 GP a year. Many members manage to pay for this level of membership with gift points.

Since this is not a publisher's site, there is no publisher's notice. The site automatically provides a copyright notice at the bottom of your work, but this is merely a notice that acknowledges your copyright as the author. It is not a registered copyright from the federal office.

There are no locked items in your account. The four Static items are all the portfolio contains.

With a free account, you should already have access to anything you should have access to, both within your portfolio and throughout the site.

Hope that helps.
