It strongly depends on the contests. There are monthly paid member only contests held by Writing.Com itself -- the winners for each are posted in the contest item around 20 days after the end of the month. IE: "Quotation Inspiration: Official Contest"  and "Short Shots: Official WDC Contest"  show the last winners.

Other contests are held, run and managed by individual members and each has their own reporting for winners. You would have to check the contest to see what it states. It's important to keep in mind these are run by individual members and Writing.Com does not moderate or manage them.

When it comes to contests, the best advice I have is to use them as personal writing prompts and exercises. Go into them with no expectation of winning or receiving feedback -- you should be doing them for yourself and no one else.

If you need more structure, search online for PAY-TO-ENTER kind of contests. We don't offer any of those here, but of course when you pay to enter a contest, you can have higher expectation on feedback and announcements than you can from volunteer run events. Just be sure to do some due-diligence before sending money for a contest... make sure it's on the up and up. There's a lot of scams out there.
