The official Writing.Com Content Rating Support forum: questions, rating adjustments, etc. |
The following is my understanding and interpretation; others may have different things to say. I don't set policy. Newsfeed: Members set their own Content Rating for newsfeed posts. I believe the particular word to which you refer falls under "derogatory names" in the CRS documentation. As to which level it belongs, I think that depends on context. Are you quoting Huckleberry Finn or calling someone that word? As I understand things, the minimum required CR for something like that would be 18+ (as with the quote example) and it just goes up from there. Forums, blogs, etc. are governed by the Content Rating of the item. Further, the owner can delete any post or comment that they feel doesn't meet their personal standards. In any case, if I understand you correctly, the word was used in a comment on someone else's newsfeed post? If so, it's subject to that member's newsfeed CR level. In general, we don't censor the written word here; all we do is require that items be rated correctly for their content. If they're not, and a mod+ sees it, action will be taken. If you believe a particular post is unsuitable for its location, you may link it here for review. |
