I am writing a story, and to answer the question ' what brought your family to this place,' I could include some backstory. However, that backstory of itself has nothing to do with the story being told - should I ditch it? Some might ask, I was thinking, why she moved to this place - what brought you here? I am just not so sure which way to go on this .... thought I would see what others thoughts are on it ... then I'll spend time thinking about it all, I guess.
