It's been happening to me, but I've just been sort of shrugging it off. I did set my session to a week (from having it set for one day) after reading this thread, logged out and back in. I did just have to log in again, though.
I haven't investigated Chrome. None of the other sites I stay logged into have been doing this, though.
All in all, it just hasn't been affecting my enjoyment that much and I've been busy.
