Noticing Newbies

Hello everyone!

I'm DarkGrath, or Rowan McGrath if you prefer to go by an IRL name basis. I'm a moderator on some websites; and utterly incompetent on other websites (like this one so far. :P)

I've mainly joined this community for the sake of looking around for willing beta-readers. I'm in the process of writing a fantasy novel, which I've called "A Frozen Flame", and I'm in a bit of a pickle while writing it. No matter how much I edit and re-edit and edit again... I'm stuck with the knowledge that I have no idea what constitutes "good writing" or "good enough". I can make the writing more appealing to myself, but with no concept of whether other people would enjoy it or not, I'm at a complete standstill.

So, yeah! That's the main thing I'm on this site for, though this does seem like a wonderful community I'd love to get involved with either way. Cheers!
