I came up with nine characters and organized them along a 3x3 character alignment grid (Lawful vs. Chaotic on the x-axis and Good vs. Evil on the y-axis). Then I gave each character three different motivations. Lastly, I assigned each of them three different character flaws. I even named all the characters.
My novel is coming along nicely, but there is still much work to do before I can begin actually writing it.
