A promise has no limitations but to the one who gives them. If one breaks a promise, from then on out, promises could be a sob story novel of any length that'll likely go unread. The question should be how does one gain the trust back to any promise made to that individual? Healing is a gradual process, and with the right ingredients over time, the Band-Aid of an open ear, once taken off, may reveal a scare, but at least trust is gained for listening to more promises of any length. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
