Whatever item you want them to be able to edit, go to that item, click edit. Open Advanced.

Under "Group Edit" there will be two boxes.

The first has a drop-down menu of your groups. Choose the group you are using to edit.

The second box set the level they must have to be able to edit the item. You said they are set at 14, so this can be set at 14.

Then save the item and they will be able to edit it.

To do so, they have to go to their group membership page:

https://www.writing.com/main/my_account/action/my_groups

At the top is a spot for them to enter the item number they want to edit.
