I am writing a story of a young boy age 11, and an older man - they become friends.
This story is in 1951, but Philip, the older man, was in a Big Band back in 1937.
I am wondering if I should include a chapter that jumps back in time from
1951 to 1937 and deal with just Philip. So, I can answer question the reader might
have about him. How he went from a clarinet musician to a town junk man.
I was thinking, I am going to just introduce Philip in chapter one, then do a small
chapter two on just Philip and the Orchestra in 1937.
In chapter 3 I would return to my story in 1951.
--------------------------------------------------------------------- So, do you think that would be a good way to deal with philip
or should I just drop tid-bits along the way and not devout
a chapter to just him.
Again, the main characters are Bobby, age 11 and Philip, about 55 years old.
