I've seen some people use a 27 part outline, it's pretty much just the hero's journey for writing.
Act 1.

2 inciting incident
3 immediate reaction
4 reaction
5 action
6 consequence
7 pressure
8 pinch
9 push

Act 2.
10 New world
11 fun and games (establishing rules of world)
12 old contrast
13 build up
14 midpoint
15 Reversal
16 reaction
17 action
18 decision

Act 3.
19 trials
20 pinch
21 darkest point
22 power within
23 action
24 Converge
25 battle
26 Climax
27 resolution

I don't always use it point by point bit it makes it easy to quickly plot out ideas for the future whe you are still going hot.
