I am writing my first story in 8 years and I have an idea I'm excited about but I'm not sure how to include one aspect:
I saw a video of a little girl sitting on the floor of an art gallery, trying to replicate the painting in front of her with her paints. The camera panned over and one woman in the crowd watching the little girl actually looked like an old version of the child. And I was thinking, it was if she was a time traveler and was looking at her younger self in real time. My basic idea is my character is an artist who no longer paints for herself. I want to include kind of like a "back to your roots' moment to be the motivator to focus on her life she wants as an artist and make changes to get there. I'm not too excited about the time traveler idea to so I'm asking for advice on how to include that moment that causes her to either have a vision, or somehow be able to see her "inner child" in real time.
I hope all of that makes sense Any help is appreciated!
