I attempted a username change this afternoon and keep getting the following error message:

My current username: soul-writer
The new username I'd like: jeremy

The error message says that username is already in use. However, when I try to link to the member {user:jeremy} (jeremy), the blue underlined username of an incorrect/former member shows up. Am I doing something incorrectly? Help
