The Hebrew word Alter
The Hebrew word Alter means "Old One". Usually referring to an old man.

For my purposes it refers to the dwarf planets Makemake and Ceres which are located in the Kuiper Belt. NASA says the Kuiper belt is the remnants of the birth of the stars. I initially was going to name Makemake as Witness 1 and Ceres as Witness 2. But later decided to use their real names as I noted in Issue 1 of the Alter Called Witness Journal.
