Thank you for your thoughtful and in depth review of Highway of Tears. Right off the bat, I figured you'd flag my switches from omni to limited perspective and the use of thought tags, and of course you're right. It's just something I'm experimenting with to make my writing more versatile.
This dark story is based on real life setting and characters. I struggled with the whole thing and was in two minds about whether to write it at all. The fact that most of the victims and their families never 'win', not even in a small way is daunting, grim, and surreal. So I thought, what if I wrote a version where the victims do get retribution in a small way?
