Hi there - so you're saying that though it's actually one person's head, there are two people talking - and you don't want to mix that up?
Zen mentioned italics for thoughts, which is true, but it won't work if you've talk two 'talkers'. You could have one in italics and one in small caps maybe? Or a different font? I've got a story where internal thoughts are in italics, as per usual, but where the mind-speak (this is between two people, note) is written in a different font (or small caps since that works like easily in an eBook.
Is your item on WDC? I'm happy to take a look at it and see if I find it confusing or easy to read or whatever.
