One thing you can do to save a little space before you create the book, instead of just delete an item is combine a couple of them together. Does similar to saving to the computer if you don't want to go that route or like me, don't have word and the other kinda similar items are a hassle. If you edit, cut and paste one poem or story and add it to another use a line and make sure to put in the title or other information you want to keep (like the description).
Once you create the book, depending on your membership level and how many you are allowed, you can just go into the item. You don't have to edit the book each time to add. Instead, you have to view the book and there will be a link for add an entry. There you can start the process, as mentioned above, if transferring over the information.
I did this with poetry cause they are very short and that many static items take up a lot of space. So, I have a book of poetry too that I need to update and clear out space again, so thanks for the reminder.
