Re: advice wanted: writing in a child's POV in an adult n...

Firstly - and I give this advice to everyone writing a prologue - do you need a prologue? The prologue should exist only to impart information to the reader that cannot be imparted in the main story because the POV character doesn't know it.

If Sola is the POV in the main story, then she does know this information, and therefore can reveal it through a memory or recalling the salient points to a friend etc. (and thus imparting it to the reader).

You should also consider whether the reader actually needs to know this information, and which part is important. Have her saying to a friend "I found this pebble when my parents abandoned me in a forest when I was six" may give all the information the reader needs to know.
