Funny you should ask. I just returned last month after disappearing in 2016. It was job-related, with 10-12 hour days the new norm. Writing was no longer an option, although I did write a bi-weekly sports column for a local paper during my absence from here. My wife became ill in December of '22, and because of that we both were forced to retire earlier than planned (I retired because she needed to be monitored while her meds were getting straightened out).
Now that things are normal (ie as normal as they're going to get) I've returned. Many of the same folks, but many things have changed, too...
