I don't have a link for instructions, but I can tell you what I do when I use GIPHY.

I click on the icon on the tool bar (the one between the smiley face and the camera icons).

That opens up a GIPHY Search box. So if I type Happy Birthday in the search box, it opens up with multiple options.

If I click on one, a link appears at the top of the window, which I can copy and paste wherever I want to use it.

In this case, I searched for Happy Birthday, clicked search, and chose one. The link it gave me was

{embed:giphy:g5R9dok94mrIvplmZd}

at the top of the choices of GIFS. I clicked on it, then copied it. Now I'm pasting it below. (I also centered it.)
